Giuseppe Tartini was an 18th century Italian violinist most famous for his piece “Devil’s Thrill”.
Tartini said that his inspiration came from a dream he had in which the prince of darkness himself asked him to lend him his violin so he could play. He was shock and marvelled at the same time, Tartini said it was the most beatiful thing he ever heard and when he woke up he decided to write down as much as he could remember. Despite being highly acclaimed by critics he said that his piece was not even half as good as the one he heard in his dreams…
